- I Finally was able to get Greg and I bath to start working on Bathroom and Utility Room Framing! This is extremely exciting because this framing will allow me to start working on my electrical as well as Utility Room Mechanicals and bathroom planning.
Man you should have put a shower in there. Come back from work put machines/tools away and take a shower. Walk back fresh to house. Also if you get in the dog house you have a place to live until she cools off.
Because it always happens..
He can't, his permit restricted it because the building can never be used as a residence.
@@johnmarquardt1991But he still could put in a shower
Add a shower to that bathroom and I'd live happily in that workshop with my old car collection.
So will your significant other 😅
So, the gaming system will be moved to the HQ, got it. 😁
Kyle, I hope everything went well at home after the "gaming system" comment!😂😂😂
Kyle, it's a missed opportunity to not put in a shower while it's an open, blank slate.
I think it would add so much extra value to your building for very little cost. Imagine getting all dirty working on something, then being able to clean up at your headquarters and not track a mess into your home!
I believe he talked about this in the beginning, with the way building code is structured in the zone his property is on, he had a lot of rules of things he couldn't build, including building height restriction and the inability to build a shower.
Wow, If that's true, you're incredibly sharp for remembering all that. If he can't put a shower in by code, then of course - but if he can, then he definitely should.
I believe that he lives in Illinois, so you know they have a bunch of stupid rules. I am from IL originaly and I moved to Indiana.
When you install the tapcons do you have the floor heat tubes located so you don’t drill into them or are the tapcons short enough where that will not be an issue? 🤔
My memory is a little fuzzy but I believe he made sure the tubes were plenty deep enough that tap cons wouldn't hit. He regularly tap cons walls to concrete so I'm sure the needs and details of that were one of his priorities in the design.
No shower in the bathroom.
Not necessary
@@daveklein2826- says the guy who never had one? Game changer!
You’re the man of the house when she’s not home!!
30:08 Famous last words... ❤🩹
That's going to come back over and over.
Your lift really fit into the stair area. So I was wondering if it would be better to put some type of doorway in the loft wall; for lifting heavy/bulky items onto the loft area.
A window in the stairway wall into the shop may be nice
I can appreciate your videos that actually show building stuff, where Perkins videos show more talking about anything other than building and free stuff they get. A least you haven’t lost what showing how to build.
Man of the house ... Uhhh
Good for you Kyle!!!😅👍😅
Great vid!!!
I assume you will be doing a dropped ceiling in the restroom to accommodate the branch circuits from your breaker box since it is below the landing of your mezzanine. As to who makes the call for the location of your gaming system? As a certain late night TV host often ends such statements, "... a sexist would say". ;) Seriously, though, a great build with great commentary so others can also have great builds.
30:08 RIP kyle
😂
It could be so rude if you install a system like the Bosch Compress 7000i something primary heating source.
and then it could have been fun if up in your man cave you had installed a floor from NOVOPAN Spaandex Floor chipboard or similar.
and I still believe that there should have been insulation between the workshop and the man cave with a foot of insulation.
But all this It's just dreams. I read an article somewhere that energy had increased less in Denmark and due to inflation than other European countries because in the 70s they started making demands for the insulation of houses and buildings..
One more thing.... that room upstairs would be perfect for a theater. Ultra short throw projector with 120-inch retracting screen. All that rock wool and air sealing means that sub-woofer could be cranked to 11. Lol
I like that you Kyle discuss with Greg what you are doing and bounce ideas off each other. Can do what you like in youre headquarters now done the 300 foot build. Get wife something nice after that comment😁😄 thanks for the video.
Hi Kyle, great to see more Progress on RR HQ 2.0. you should consider hading some space available in th mechanical room for a air compressor for the shop. will help keep the noise down.
Door is a must, i would do a multiple pane window door, lights up and down staircase, and you always have space to add shower stall down the road with that much space in bathroom area
Any update on Greg’s Venmo? How much did he get?
Saturday morning RR video starts my day off just fine
Men in the house. :). I heard that so many times...
Putting those stairs in is gonna be tight and tough.
Nice shop! And built solid.
Need some Electrical videos! Curious to see lighting/outlets in RRHQ!!
“We build cardboard houses that would blow over in the first wind” that doesn’t exactly show confidence in your building Kyle. You have to think a little bit about the marketing. 😳
As you plan the mechanicals, consider using an air-to-water heat pump, for heating, hot water, and cooling (with separate hydronic air handlers). This is the ultimate for energy efficiency, consistent with your growing interest in building science.
Getting exciting. Love all the explanations of every process you give. Have a blessed weekend guys!
How did you get away with putting electrical feeders in same sleeve as the water? Those wires are suppose to be in their own electrical conduit.

@@johnscott2076 a dumbweighter is an elevator to move items between floors and would be safer than carrying items up a flight of stairs . I don’t think that is a dumb idea
Missed opportunity at 15:08 to play construction Jump board haha
Add a walk-in shower AND a Urinal.... Man cave it up a little
Maybe I'm lazy or just a noob, but I would have used a double top plate attaching the top plate to the ceiling, building the wall, then standing it up and sliding it in into place. Wall could have been lifted between the I joists and moved into place. Plastic shims on the floor would take care of the minor variation on the floor. I also would have cut the side of the bottom plate and slid it in. They need stud shoes anyway, don't they? Of course, I'm no pro, and maybe my ideas aren't really ideal.....
Gotta agree on the shower.... I get that your house is right behind you, but on the occasional need for it (really dirty and not tracking into home), it would be useful. Also, if there were some kind of chemical accident diesel/paint thinner/acetone/ etc spilled on you, it's right there. Needed, no, but nice to have. I've never needed to use the showers in my classroom (science), but I am glad they are there, just in case.
Mechanical room needs more headroom for service in the future
If you are worried about putting a screw thru a tube in the floor, would it be ok to glue the bottom of the wall to the floor? Asking for a friend.
Weird condition!! That is hitting the nail on the head! 🤣
It's possible to have 2 landings in the stairs case, an elongated first landing to provide more headroom in you mechanical room. Just a thought.
23:00. vaccuum sounds like a tie fighter and the foam glue sounds like some other star wars sound effect. .
I'm assuming you finished the upstairs already so you could move your game system over.
You two work so well together it's like you're married 😅
Good morning. Happy Saturday. #6 in the "Like" this video.
Kyle its to late now but next time just lay some lumber on the ground to figure out and get a visual on the room you want to build
Saturday morning cartoons, good stuff.
🤘😎
Looks good guys. Time to bring back the Metabo miter saw 👍
So you're going to put your electrical panel near water you're asking for a disaster in our opinion
Let us know if your wife agrees to your comment, about being ur decision. 😂
You guys do nice work! I enjoy this channel.
Let those who have never made a mistake throw the first stone. Great work guys
Good to see the crew back @ RRHQ. Add a shower brother … that’s a no brainer.
Do your thang guys. Its your gig. Ignore the rest.
that outcropping needs a hip roof.
Why not put the stairs in the front for better access
Good luck with everything
Kyle great work love all your videos
like others have said, I’d be adding a shower stall too.
CONTEST CONTEST CONTEST!!!!!!!! Design Kyle's mancave....
where is the urinal going?
Spiral staircase look better
Is that a Phallic brand toilet?
Good morning ✌️ 👍🤟🤟😎💪💪💪
THANK YOU. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
What brand is the L D M ???
HAPPY WIFE HAPPY LIFE
Let's see the motorhome!
Took ya long enough kyle
Spiral staircase?
Pocket doors
nice work
🦨💨🔨
if they are using the house well pump, I would run 2 water lines, fresh water for hose bib and softend water for toilet and sinks.
I would put the door at the top of the stairs
If it's even needed, it would be cheaper and easier to add a softener in the shop.
😁👍🏼
👍👌
I would do a shower as well. Save a lot of potential arguments because you either drug mud into the house our got gunk on the hand towels.
He’s the man of the house- he do what he wants
I was just at a BUMPIN’ tiny shop bathroom party just last night 😂
With a glory hole in it🤣🤣😉
Nah, your mom was there so no need for that 😊
Gaming system and man shouldn’t be in the same sentence
the Bathroom and Utility Room should have Pocket Doors...
In construction when you cram too many things together in one area problems just start occurring somehow some way they occur putting steps in the rear of the shop that would be a mistake then putting steps over top of your mechanicals that would be even a bigger mistake then putting electrical next to water we don't even know where you're going with this now it's like there's no thought work at hand You're just blabbering things out why not get an engineer or even look online come on man this is just our opinion
Just make sure you leave yourself enough room for a future shower...you know when the wife puts down the hammer you have somewhere to go or possibly live...lol
Def agree with the other comments that you should have extended the bathroom to add a shower. Even if not for yourself, if you sold it at some point down the road that loft up top may be a living space for someone. That said, it might be smart to hook up a washer box on the exterior of the bathroom wall for a washer. Think it all the way through bubba, But great job either way
Happy Saturday Y'all. I would add a shower and a W/D unit in case you are ever going to rent space or you are ordered to the Dog House by your spouse....
Why no shower?
In our opinion we think you're going about it all wrong putting the mechanicals by your stairs is going to be a major mistake in the near future Even having your bathroom by your stairs is going to cause problems down the line separate them move them away from one another and you will save yourself a lot of headaches rethink how you would do it but the mechanicals and stairs they never add upright really put some thought in it go and look around at other people's ideas and plans to get a better understanding of what direction would be best for you but this looks like a major mistake in our opinion
Resistance is futile, we are the Borg.....
